Finding Open Datasets In-Person
Open data is freely accessible and can be readily shared and edited by anyone. It is data that can be used without financial, legal, or technical barriers. Open datasets carry open licenses which give researchers the ability to reuse and redistribute the information.
In this session we will look at resources for getting starting point with finding free datasets online. Some data is available through subscription costs and paywalls, but this workshop will not delve into those resources.Rather we will focus on search strategies for finding datasets within your discipline through open resources such as government entities.
