Introduction to the Carpentries - Foundational Coding and Data Science Skills In-Person / Online

The Carpentries is a nonprofit organization teaches foundational coding and data science skills to researchers worldwide.

In this workshop we will talk about the curriculum and lessons offered by the Carpentries that researchers can access online to help them learn topics like Version control with Git, Plotting and programming with Python, Using Databases and SQL, and Introduction to Geospatial Concepts. We will give an overview of the Carpentries website and resources available to help students use the online modules.

This workshop is intended as a basic overview for students who work with data and could benefit from the Carpentries lessons.
